What are Nectar Points?
Nectar is a loyalty card scheme at is own by Sainsbury’s. However, you can collect Nectar points from various companies when you shop with them, such as Argos.
Each Nectar point is worth money. When you have collected a certain amount of money from Nectar points, then you can spend it at participating companies or locations.
How much money are Nectar points worth?
Every Nectar point is worth 0.005p. This equates to half a pence. So this means, every 2 Nectar point is worth 1p.
Here are some calculations for Nectar points
100 Nectar points = 0.50p
200 Nectar points = £1
500 Nectar points = £2.50
1,000 Nectar points = £5
2,500 Nectar points = £12.50
5,000 Nectar points = £25
7,500 Nectar points = £37.50
10,000 Nectar points = £50
Where to collect Nectar points
There are over 400 places that you can collect Nectar points from, here are some of them.
Sainsbury’s
As Sainsbury’s own Nectar, the best place to collect Nectar points is at Sainsbury’s. Especially, if you shop there anyway.
For every £1 you spend at Sainsbury’s, you will get 1 Nectar point. So collecting 100 Nectar points will give you 0.50p or 200 Nectar points will get you £1.00.
If you register with Nectar online and download the app, you might get special offers for additional Nectar points via your email account or through the app. Sainsbury’s have weekly Nectar points offers.
To get your points you have swipe your app or physical card at the till.
My Nectar Prices
Sainsbury’s have introduced My Nectar prices, that will give you individualised offers from your spending habit.
Argos
Argos is also owned by Sainsbury’s and you get the same 1 Nectar point for every £1 you spend.

Some places offer double Nectar points when you shop with them. And, some places might give special offers where they give you additional Nectar points when you shop with them. So look out for any special offers that might be available

If you read the Daily Mail newspaper, then you can collect Nectar points they provide.
On the Daily Mail there is a 12 digit unique number at the back of the page. This is the unique number for the day.
